TTBuilders.com Website Project.

 We are working on  the TTBuilders.com Website - design and graphics. The site is not yet optimized however we are planning on doing it in the future. From our preliminary research  we are aware of quite substantial amount of similar sites catering to the  general public in Chicago Area. 

In regard to Optimization of the website, the first thing we must do is add more text and quality links to the site.  Later we will add statistic to the site to monitor the website traffic.

I am currently working on optimizing a website of Midwest Thermal Vac company focused on Vacuum carburizing and heat treating services. The website was completely remodeled and tons of new contend added. The next stage is to get new business related links.

The competition is not really big so I expect a website to gain strenght and climb higher in Google rankings in coming weeks.

Vacuum carburizing method comprises a carburizing treatment of workpieces made from steel material heated to about 900-1100° C. performed by introducing an ethylenee gas as a carburizing gas at a vacuum of 1-10 kPa in a carburizing furnace chamber.Low pressure vacuum carburizing has expanded to encompass the latest demands of the aerospace, automotive and industrial markets, particularly in the areas of new material development.

Heat treating represents a significant portion or about 30% of a typical gear manufacturing cost. lf not properly understood and controlled, it can have a significant impact on all aspects of the gear manufacturing process.

Links of course play very important key role in seo and getting your website in top ten. No all lings matter though. Even if you get links form websites with high PR (PageRank) it doesn't mean that you will benefit greatly from them. What matters is to have links related to your website. Thus if you have webpages with content about traveling get links from similar websites.

Sometimes you can be even punish if getting many links form "bed neighborhood" as Google calls it. Thus find the-same-category links or good and solid directories instead of many worthless links from websites not related to yours or small directories created only for a purpose of linking.

Open Directory Project

Good valuable links are the key to high rankings in Google. One of them is dmoz link. DMOZ is The Open Directory Project (ODP)(from directory.mozilla.org, its original domain name)It is a multilingual open content directory of World Wide Web links owned by Netscape that is constructed and maintained by a community of volunteer editors.

The problem with dmoz is that it can take long time to be included and actually it looks it is easy to be rejected. Dmoz editors no longer look only for original content. Content has to be unique in comparison to websites already in a particular dmoz category. Thus many good looking and new designed websites do not qualify not because they have duplicated content but because they have no edge over older already included websites.

For example if you create website about SEO and put lots of originally written content it can be rejected simply because there are hundreds websites about SEO and yours has nothing more to offer over already accepted listings.

There is a good news though. My experience shows that you do not need to wait several months or years to be listed. I have submitted 5 websites about 2 months ago. Recently looking into their statistics I found out that 2 of them were visited by dmoz editor. They apparently were rejected as i haven't seen them being listed yet more likely because of reasons discussed above. But 2 months is no so long and i am confident that if the websites will be improved they can get listed.

Sitemap.

Sitemap is a hierarchical representation of the architecture of a web site. Usually it is a webpage that lists the pages on a web site. This helps visitors and search engines find pages on the site.

Most search engines will only follow a finite number of links from a page, so if a site is very large, the site map may be required so that search engines and visitors can access all content on the site.

XML Sitemaps.
Google introduced Google Sitemaps so web developers can publish lists of links from across their sites. The sitemap files can then be used to indicate to a web crawler how such pages can be found. Google, MSN and Yahoo now jointly support the Sitemaps protocol.

We recommend using www.freesitemapgenerator.com service. The big advantage over other sitemap generators is that it automatically sets a priority for particular webpages.

Meadows project

Currently We take on Meadows project: www.meadowshplc.com. This was a bumpy ride because a few weeks ago our client's domain (www.meadowsinstrument.com) was stolen. Yes it can happen if you do not make sure that a domain is in your name.

I do not know exact details but it looks like a hosting provider (www.gisol.com) took advantage of them and shut down the website demanding several houndred dollars. After the amount was paid the domain was down for another week and we lost listing in DMOZ.org. It was disappointment as we already did great job with old domain putting it in top ten for main keywords: used hplc, refurbished hplc, waters hplc.

We registered a new domain meadowshplc.com as it is clear that sooner or later the rogue hosting provider will come again demanding for more money. We are doing very well with optimizing a new domain.

The website starts showing up in top ten Google for some of our keywords and we regained dmoz listing and recently bought a listing in Yahoo directory. It was pricy and costs $300 a year but it is a solid link and should help us to get to the top in all main keywords.
